Made in a Country to Live in Another
2025
cyanotype on cotton paper
25 postcards cut from a 50x70cm single cyanotype print, each stamped with the text “Made in a country to live in another.”
The fragmented gesture echoes the displacement of diasporic communities, reflecting on identity, political absence, manual labour and the emotional residue of departure. It questions how globalization and the freedom of movement have turned people, goods and services into commodities, alienating communities and leaving them with little choice but to adapt and survive within a democratic capitalist world whose consequences we rarely acknowledge until they shape our lives.
